		<description>When you put a sheet or blanket on top of your foot, is it too painful to bear, it could be gout.  Gout is a form of arthritis.

Motrin /ibuprofen can reduce the swelling, but there are better medications for gout.  See your Doctor for a Rx prescription.

I have been taking Black cherry (powder) caplets for gout.  I keeps the attack away.  See the link below on Black cherry juice.

		<description>Gout would be in the differential diagnosis. It is more likely if there is a positive family history, or if you have elevated levels of uric acid. Toes and ankles are frequent sites of gout attacks. 

Rheumatoid arthritis is another possibility. It&#039;s too bad the rheumatologist can&#039;t see you any sooner. Any chance you can push for an earlier appointment?</description>
